Check your foundations – Part 2

A building is only as strong as its foundation

These foundational statements are the second part of what was shared before. Check your foundations Part 1

  1. Honour God

John 14:30,31 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.

Enemy could not find anything to exploit in Jesus’ life, because He loved the father and did everything, He commanded. Jesus honoured the Father.

2. Enter into a covenant relationship with Christ

Ruth 1: 16, 17 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.”

  1. Where He goes, you go. Where He is, you shall remain
  2. If you are watching Him, you will pray

3. Mind set on the Holy Spirit

a. All that God has planned for us

b. All the deep things that are in the heart of God

c. God’s perspective of things

d. All things taught to us by the Holy Spirit

e. No natural thinking. You will rise above facts

f. All the things that have the nature of the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of Truth

g, Thoughts that show us how to labour and partner with God the Father as a Son.

h. Mind of Christ to coordinate and cooperate with God

4. Take up your cross and follow Him daily

Luke 14:33 In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.

  1. Die daily to anything that stops you from following God and loving your neighbour
  2. You will see new things being added to you. New, fresh insight

5. His grace is sufficient

John 15:4-8 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Hebrews 4:15, 16 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

John 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Psalms 46:4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

  1. Stay connected, stay true. Let the river flow.
